Is this show public? If so, how do we get tickets?

I'm a sophomore at W&M and I'm SO EXCITED that mae will be coming. I have no connection to UCAB, the activities board on campus, who booked them, but I can tell you what they've done in the past. It really depends on the location, but I'm guessing that they'll be playing at William and Mary Hall, which is where My Chem and MUSE played when they came last year- it's this big indoor stadium with all-around seating, used mostly for basketball games. I don't know how outsiders got tickets to be honest (there certainly were a bunch of outsiders, so don't worry, this concert will probably be public too), but all the students at W&M get discounted tickets, and we buy them through the school. So I guess if you're really desperate and you live near Williamsburg you could stop by the University Center box office, and buy tickets in person (I have no idea when they will go on sale). Since they haven't gone on sale at school yet, I don't expect tickets to go on sale online for a while. So... my best advice for anyone who would want to come is to keep checking mae's website, and ticketmaster, or wherever else you go for tickets. I know many of you are probably doing this already, but I don't know what else to tell you... I'll try to keep you updated, but no promises! Just be patient and keep checking.

Hey I see Tokyo is playing with Mae.
Isn't that Robert and Josiah's band?
Meghan

Yes, it is! I think that is so awesome, I'm excited to see them..IF I can go.
On PureVolume is says they're playing in the University Center Chesapeake Room. I've only been on/near the campus once when I accidentally took the ferry (don't ask) over there, but other than that I stay away because it's pretty crowded. Interstate for me, thanks!

But anyway, thank you for the info!

I don't think it's crowded, but I'm used to DC traffic...
I don't know anything about Tokyo, but yeah they're playing, I'll check them out...
but the Chesapeake room? really? They have live bands play there for homecoming (we have dances in there, so it's not TOO small) but it's really a much smaller space than the Hall, which means that it might be harder to get tickets.

I only wish my college would book Mae this upcoming semester.
That's real cool though, that Tokyo gets to play the opener. From what I've heard of them, they're really good.

Here's what the promotional facebook event says- this was posted by someone on UCAB, our events staff here...
"UCAB has brought you The Wailers, Wilco, Carbon Leaf, The Roots, My Chemical Romance, Muse, OK GO, Mute Math, and more--and now we're thrilled to bring you Mae!
Hailing from right down the road in Norfolk, VA, Mae is a rock band currently on tour with Anberlin, Motion City Soundtrack, and Metro Station. They formed in 2001 and are known for hits such as "Suspension" and "The Everglow."
Come rock with them and a special guest on Charter Day in the UC Chesapeake! Official time of concert will be set next semester.
Tickets are $5 with W&M student ID, $15 for the public.
See you there!
Check them out at www.myspace.com/mae"
Note: it says $15 for the public, so there must be some public tickets...

So i emailed the administrator of the Facebook group and this is what she said.
Hi Jeremy!
The public can purchase tickets starting Jan. 28th either online at www.wm.edu/boxoffice or in person at the PBK box office. Tickets for the public are $15, and there is an online service surcharge of, I think, $2.
Hope that helps!

I hope it's sold out...it should be. The room only holds about 700 (would be my guess)
